Who we are

Helping employers fix healthcare, one plan at a time.

Our team brings together healthcare cost strategists, a practicing nurse practitioner, claims specialists, and pharmacy benefit experts. Together we take apart what your plan actually spends: pharmacy, claims, contracts, and fees.

Then we give you fact-based recommendations, not a stack of carrier quotes. The goal is always the same: lower costs for the organization and better, easier-to-use benefits for your people.

President & CEO · Healthcare Cost Strategist™

Bill J. Schmaltz

Bill believes no employer should have to choose between protecting the business and taking care of its people.

At Boeing Military Aerospace, he learned a principle that shaped his approach to healthcare: controlling a jet’s cost means managing every component and contracted service, while demanding exceptional quality, performance, and accountability.

Bill came to a firm conviction: healthcare often works exactly as its financial incentives encourage. To change the results, employers needed to change how they buy care.

He made that his mission.

Through Employers Consulting Group, Bill brings business discipline to healthcare: examine underlying costs, uncover waste, negotiate better arrangements, and hold every partner accountable. His goal: help employers reclaim wasted dollars for stronger benefits, more affordable care, and healthier organizations.

Buy smarter. Demand better. Make every healthcare dollar count. It works, and Bill has made it his life’s work to prove it.

Bill served in the United States Air Force and earned his Bachelor of Science from Saint Louis University. His career spans managing contracted service costs at Boeing Military Aerospace and advising businesses on healthcare expenses, flexible spending accounts, human resources, and retirement plans for a Fortune 500 payroll company.
